Today (03.07.2026), police officers from the Prevention Unit of the Veles Sector for Internal Affairs carried out a preventive campaign at several locations in Veles under the slogan "Let's Protect Our Forests from Wildfires and Illegal Logging," aimed at raising public awareness about fire prevention and responsible behavior.
Citizens were reminded of the importance of reporting irresponsible behavior, especially lighting fires in open areas, discarding cigarette butts, and other actions that could cause fires, given the increased wildfire risk during the summer season.
As part of the preventive activities, police officers from the Veles Sector for Internal Affairs, the Čaška Police Station, and the Negotino Police Department also conducted campaigns under the themes "The Police Closer to the Citizens" and "Don't Be a Silent Witness," as well as activities focused on preventing gender-based violence, during which educational advice was shared with members of the public.
In addition, police officers from the Road Traffic Police Stations in Štip, Kočani, and Sveti Nikole carried out educational campaigns promoting safe participation in road traffic, while the Vinica General Police Station organized a preventive activity on protecting open areas from fires.
During the activities, educational leaflets and informational materials were distributed to citizens.
