From April 20 to 24, at the Training Center - Idrizovo, members of the Department of Aerial Units within the Ministry of Internal Affairs are participating in training conducted by the Deputy Director of ENAC - National Agency for Civil Aviation (the Italian Civil Aviation Authority), Mr. Fabio Nicolai, along with Italian aviation experts, as part of the activities of the EU Twinning Light project "Strengthening the Capacities of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for Conducting Aerial Operations."
The Twinning project officially began in January 2026 and will be implemented over a period of 10 months with direct logistical and administrative support from Eutalia and the Delegation of the European Union to North Macedonia, who play a key role in its successful implementation.
The goal of the project is to enhance the operational capacities of the Department of Aerial Units within the Ministry of Internal Affairs, thereby elevating the execution of aerial operations to the level of European and international standards, while simultaneously increasing the safety and efficiency of police activities.
The Department of Aerial Units plays a crucial role in carrying out rescue missions, combating fires, fighting crime, as well as supporting other police activities.
In this regard, through this project, the Ministry of Internal Affairs reaffirms its commitment to advancing European standards and practices, with the ultimate goal of enhancing the safety of citizens.
