Turkish National Arrested for Driving 203 km/h on Motorway with 120 km/h Speed Limit

 

On 10 July 2026, at 3:00 p.m., on the "Friendship" motorway near the village of Miletkovo, Gevgelija area, police officers from the Gevgelija Police Department under the Strumica Sector of Internal Affairs arrested Turkish national J.C. (46).

During a traffic control using a speed radar, officers established that J.C. was driving a Mercedes passenger vehicle with German registration plates at a speed of 203 km/h in an area where the maximum permitted speed, indicated by traffic signs, is 120 km/h.

The driver was removed from traffic, and a public prosecutor from the Basic Public Prosecutor's Office in Gevgelija was notified of the incident. An appropriate criminal/report has been filed against him.
