In the period from 01.12.2025 to 31.12.2025, as a result of regular traffic controls carried out by police officers from all Sectors for Internal Affairs on roads across the country, out of a total of 19,750 issued payment orders, 4,256 violations referred to drivers who did not respect the prescribed speed limit.
A total of 132 persons were deprived of liberty for reckless driving pursuant to Article 297-a of the Criminal Code, of whom 109 for driving under the influence of alcohol, three for driving in a prohibited direction, 13 for driving at a speed exceeding the permitted limit in a populated area, and seven for driving at a speed exceeding the permitted limit outside a populated area.
Furthermore, according to the statistical overview of police activities, during December 5,515 violations for improper parking were recorded, 2,010 measures were imposed on drivers operating a vehicle without a driver’s license, as well as 728 sanctions for driving under the influence of alcohol.
On the other hand, in accordance with the provisions of the Law on Road Traffic Safety, 19 motorcyclists were sanctioned for not wearing a protective helmet, and 441 pedestrians were also sanctioned. Additionally, 1,136 traffic participants were sanctioned for not using a seat belt. Pursuant to the Law on Vehicles, 356 vehicles were removed from traffic due to being unregistered, and 187 due to technical defects. A total of 110 drivers were sanctioned for failing to meet the prescribed conditions regarding vehicle window tinting (foils).
