Throughout yesterday (August 17, 2026), from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, the Traffic Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs conducted a traffic control operation across the entire state to sanction violations committed by pedestrians. During the control, 166 pedestrians were sanctioned, of which 137 were for unsafe street crossings outside of designated crosswalks... During the control, 167 other types of traffic violations were also sanctioned.
Traffic controls will continue in the coming days. We urge citizens to respect traffic rules and regulations. Pedestrians should cross the roadway at marked crosswalks, as failure to comply with traffic rules will result in sanctions. Together, by adhering to the rules, we must contribute to safer roadways.
