A criminal complaint has been filed against two Turkish nationals, who, through threats, coerced two residents of Gostivar into financial actions to their own detriment

The External Office for Criminal Investigations in Gostivar has submitted a criminal complaint against T.D. (55) and Z.D. (54) from Turkey due to reasonable grounds for suspicion of committing the crime of "extortion." The accused, continuously from 2019 to 2026, threatened a 66-year-old resident of Gostivar and his 41-year-old son, forcing them to hand over crafted gold weighing a total of 43 kilograms and 800 grams, while unlawfully and arbitrarily calculating the value of the gold as raw material, rather than as finished products with significantly higher market value.

Additionally, the accused, through blackmail and threatening messages directed at the son and the family, coerced the 66-year-old into signing a preliminary contract for the sale of real estate in February 2025, the contents of which were not read to him by a notary in Gostivar.
