As a result of a successful coordinated investigation conducted by the Ministry of Interior of the Republic of North Macedonia and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), the administrator of the illicit online marketplace “OLVX” has been identified. The platform was used to offer stolen personal data, login credentials, and tools designed to facilitate cybercrime.
The Ministry of Interior’s Cybercrime and Digital Forensics Sector has filed criminal charges with the Basic Public Prosecutor’s Office in Tetovo against E.A. (20), from the village of Golema Rečica in the Tetovo area, on reasonable grounds to suspect that he committed the criminal offences of “computer fraud,” “misuse of personal data,” and “production and distribution of child pornography.”
The operation was initiated following intelligence initially provided by the FBI, which led to a joint, coordinated investigation aimed at identifying and disrupting criminal activities associated with the illicit online marketplace “OLVX.”
According to the evidence gathered, between 2023 and 2025, the suspect administered domains and websites associated with the “OLVX” platform, which operated as an illicit marketplace for the sale of stolen digital data, software tools, and services intended to facilitate criminal offences.
The platform was primarily used by cybercriminals who bought and sold personal data and login credentials providing access to victims’ user accounts and computer networks. During its operation, more than 1,500 sets of stolen login credentials were offered for sale.
The investigation further established that, between 2025 and 2026, the suspect also administered an illicit online group called “ONEMILI” on the Telegram messaging application. The group offered services and software tools intended to facilitate cybercrime, including fraudulent refund schemes.
Additionally, evidence was obtained indicating that the suspect had acquired and possessed child sexual abuse material (CSAM) for personal use through the Telegram application.
This operation marks the first jointly coordinated cybercrime operation between the Ministry of Interior and the FBI, underscoring the importance of international law enforcement cooperation in detecting and combating modern forms of organized cybercrime.
Through its Cybercrime and Digital Forensics Sector, the Ministry of Interior remains firmly committed to combating cybercrime, protecting personal data, and ensuring the safety and security of citizens in the digital environment.
The successful cooperation with the FBI represents a significant step towards strengthening capabilities to tackle transnational cybercrime and sends a clear message that cyberspace must not serve as a safe haven for criminal activity.
