Two police officers have been arrested, suspected of the robbery at the jewelry store in Gostivar, and the search is on for other individuals, with a criminal complaint filed

The Ministry of Internal Affairs has submitted a criminal complaint to the Basic Public Prosecutor's Office in Gostivar against two individuals on suspicion that they participated as accomplices in the commission of the crime of "robbery" under Article 237, paragraph 4 in connection with paragraph 1 of the Criminal Code. The suspects were deprived of their liberty yesterday.
On October 10, 2025, they, along with other currently unknown individuals, entered a jewelry store in Gostivar and, through force and threats with firearms, seized 18 kilograms of gold. The two suspects are police officers from the Police Station in Kicevo, who conspired and made a plan for the robbery together with the other individuals for whom intensive actions are being taken to locate. The suspects participated in the preparations by surveying the location and the operations of the jewelry store two days before the robbery. On the day itself, they secured the route of the two vehicles used in the robbery in Gostivar with an official vehicle from the Ministry of Internal Affairs, one of which was later found burned on the main road Gostivar-Debar, while the other was discovered abandoned in Kicevo, near the livestock market.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs, in coordination with the Basic Public Prosecutor's Office in Gostivar, is taking measures and actions for the complete resolution of the case.
