The Minister of Internal Affairs, Panche Toskoski, today, as part of the government delegation led by Prime Minister Kristian Mickoski, attended the commemoration of August 2nd – Republic Day, during which fresh flowers were laid at the Memorial Center ASNOM in Pelince in honor of the Ilinden and ASNOM fighters, who laid the foundations of Macedonian statehood with their struggle.
After paying respects in Pelince, the government delegation, together with a high delegation from the Republic of Serbia, visited the monastery "St. Prohor Pchinski," where they laid fresh flowers at the memorial chapel, honoring the historical significance of this place for the modern Macedonian state.
Minister Toskoski emphasized that the Ilinden Uprising and the First ASNOM Assembly represent two pillars of Macedonian statehood and symbols of the centuries-old struggle for freedom, justice, and national dignity.
"Today we pay tribute to those who, with their courage and self-sacrifice, left us the greatest obligation – to preserve and develop the state they created. It is our duty to continue their work, to safeguard freedom, unity, and institutions, and to build a secure, stable, and prosperous Macedonia for future generations," stated Minister Toskoski.
He highlighted that the historical ideals of Ilinden and ASNOM continue to serve as a strong inspiration for building a democratic, secure, and dignified state, where the rule of law, unity, and care for citizens remain supreme values.
On the occasion of Republic Day, Minister Toskoski extended congratulations to all citizens, wishing that the holiday serves as a reminder of unity, perseverance, and responsibility towards the homeland.
