Today (January 30, 2026) at the Ministry of Internal Affairs, a working meeting took place between the Minister of Internal Affairs Panche Toshkovski and the Ambassador of the Swiss Confederation to the Republic of North Macedonia, H.E. Christoph Sommer.
During the meeting, a mutual satisfaction was expressed regarding the ongoing cooperation between the two countries, noting that bilateral relations in the field of internal affairs are developing continuously, based on mutual trust, partnership, and shared values. The interlocutors emphasized their readiness to further deepen cooperation through the implementation of joint projects and initiatives in various areas of mutual interest, focusing on institutional strengthening and the exchange of expertise.
Special emphasis was placed on the partnership in the field of migration, which represents a significant segment of their mutual cooperation. In this regard, the importance of continuing working dialogs, coordination, and the exchange of experiences was highlighted, aiming for more effective management of migration flows and addressing challenges related to this area.
Additionally, the excellent police cooperation between the relevant institutions of both countries was confirmed, which operates at a high professional level and represents a significant pillar in the overall bilateral relations. The interlocutors agreed that such cooperation contributes to strengthening security, stability, and the rule of law, both nationally and regionally.
The meeting took place in a constructive and friendly atmosphere, with a shared assessment that there is a solid foundation for further enhancing the partnership between the two countries.
