Today (31.01), police officers deprived of liberty S.A.O. (35) and K.H. (32), both citizens of the Republic of Turkey, on suspicion of committing the criminal offense of migrant smuggling.
At around 02:30 on the Gevgelija–Skopje highway, police officers from the Border Crossing and Border Surveillance Police Station Bogorodica stopped a passenger motor vehicle “Skoda Octavia” caravan with Skopje license plates, owned by a rent-a-car company, driven by S.A.O., with K.H. as a passenger.
During a search of the vehicle, four illegal migrants from Egypt were found, aged between 15 and 35.
By order of a public prosecutor, the two persons were detained at the Gevgelija Police Station, while the migrants were accommodated at the “Vinojug” Reception and Transit Center.
After full documentation of the case, an appropriate criminal report will be filed against the persons.
