The Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs, Astrit Iseni, held a working meeting with the Ambassador of Australia to Macedonia, H.E. Peter Trusvel.
The meeting highlighted the friendly relations between the two countries, as well as the mutual readiness to enhance cooperation in the field of security and the fight against organized crime. The importance of exchanging experiences and best practices among institutions was emphasized, particularly in the context of strengthening the capacities of police services.
Deputy Minister Iseni expressed gratitude for the support from Australia and noted that such meetings represent a significant contribution to deepening bilateral cooperation.
Ambassador Trusvel confirmed Australia’s strong and ongoing commitment to deepening cooperation, while also emphasizing that the country remains firmly dedicated to supporting the reform processes and modernization of institutions in our state.
During the conversation, the interlocutors also discussed opportunities for future joint activities, especially in the area of police training and the exchange of expert support. It was noted that such cooperation would contribute to the enhancement of professional standards and the strengthening of institutional capacities, which is particularly important for further alignment with European and international practices.
