During the past 24 hours, five cases of domestic violence were recorded, with two individuals deprived of liberty and taken to a police station.
On 04.05.2026 at 14:45 in SVR Skopje, a 75-year-old woman reported that on 03.05.2026, at the family home in the Kisela Voda area, she was physically assaulted by her son S.Gj. and his wife, who also damaged part of the household inventory.
On the same day at 15:45 in SVR Skopje, a 19-year-old girl reported that on 02.05.2026, at their home in the Kisela Voda area, she and her mother were physically assaulted by her father Z.Gj.
On 04.05.2026 at 07:05 in SVR Tetovo, a 30-year-old woman from Tetovo reported that around 06:50 in Tetovo, her former partner S.K. from Skopje was following and harassing her.
On 04.05.2026 at 15:30 on “Brakja Gjinovski” Street in Gostivar, police officers deprived A.M. (31) from Gostivar of his liberty, acting upon a prior report from his wife that he physically assaulted her in the family home and made threats against her life and the lives of her close relatives.
On 04.05.2026 at 21:10 in the “Banjeshnica” neighborhood in Gostivar, police officers detained Gj.Sh. (35) from Gostivar. Acting upon a prior complaint that he behaved aggressively toward his mother, officers arrived at the scene, where he continued to act aggressively toward them and insulted them.
Measures are being taken to clarify the cases, and after full documentation, appropriate charges will be filed against the perpetrators.
