Starting Monday, a halt to freight traffic at the border crossings has been announced; the Ministry of Internal Affairs will ensure smooth passage for passenger vehicles and busses

The Ministry of Internal Affairs – Department for Border Affairs and Migration informs the public that a notice has been submitted to the Ministry of Internal Affairs regarding a public protest organized by the association "Makam-Trans," scheduled to commence on January 26, 2026, at 12:00 PM. According to the submitted notice, the protest is planned to take place at the following border crossings: Deve Bair, Delcevo, Novo Selo, Dojran, Bogorodica, Medzitlija, Qafasan, Blace, and Blato.
The protest will manifest as a restriction on traffic for freight vehicles, specifically by closing the lanes and terminals designated for freight traffic, while passenger traffic will proceed without interruption at all border crossings. According to the organizer's announcement, the protest is expected to last up to seven days, with the possibility of being called off earlier if the reasons for its organization are resolved in the meantime.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs, in accordance with its legal responsibilities, will take appropriate measures and actions to maintain public order and peace, as well as to ensure safe and unobstructed traffic, with special emphasis on the movement of passenger vehicles, busses, and vehicles transporting medicines, live animals, hazardous materials, and other priority shipments.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs urges citizens and transporters to stay informed about the situation at the border crossings, to follow official communications, and, if necessary, to use alternative border crossings.
