On 6 August 2026, police officers from the Skopje Police Department arrested N.N. (19) from Skopje in connection with a traffic accident that occurred the previous evening, 5 August 2026, at approximately 9:20 p.m., at the intersection of Boris Sarafov Street and Krsto Rakovski Street in Skopje.
According to the police, while driving a Fiat Punto passenger vehicle, the suspect struck A.S.K. (48) from Skopje and fled the scene without providing assistance or reporting the accident.
The pedestrian sustained serious bodily injuries, which were confirmed at the PHI City General Hospital "8 Septemvri" in Skopje.
A police investigation was carried out by an on-site investigation team from the Skopje Police Department, and immediate measures were taken to locate both the driver and the vehicle.
Following instructions from the competent public prosecutor, N.N. has been detained at a police station, the vehicle has been seized, and appropriate criminal charges will be filed upon completion of the investigation.
