On March 31, 2026, at 1:50 AM in Gostivar, police officers from the Gostivar Police Station arrested M.D. (34) from Gostivar on reasonable suspicion of committing the crime of "murder." Specifically, earlier at 1:30 AM, a male individual reported to the Gostivar Police Station that he suspected a family member had been murdered. Police officers immediately responded to the scene and found K.D. (63) from Gostivar deceased in the house, with visible injuries and signs of violence to the head, after which his son was detained on suspicion of murder. According to the initial statements from the suspect, his father had died the previous day around 2:50 PM after falling in the bathroom, but he did not report the incident to the authorities.
A public prosecutor has been notified, and measures are being taken to clarify the incident, after which an appropriate report will be filed.
