Today (15.03.2026), between 11:00 and 20:00, in the areas of Centar, Aerodrom, Bit Pazar and Chair within the jurisdiction of SIA Skopje, the Road Traffic Safety Department together with the Traffic Escort and Protection Unit carried out an intensified control action targeting violations committed by drivers of mopeds, tricycles, quadricycles and motorcycles. During the action, 91 measures were imposed.
Out of these, seven criminal charges were filed for reckless driving of a motor vehicle, six of which were for driving without a valid driving licence and one for driving under the influence of alcohol above 1.50 ‰. Three of the criminal charges were filed against minors.
Additionally, the following measures were imposed:

17 measures for operating a vehicle in an inappropriate licence category;

13 sanctions for drivers operating a moped without a driving certificate;

43 measures for not wearing a protective helmet;

3 sanctions for unregistered motorcycles;

1 measure for a driver operating a motorcycle under the influence of alcohol;

7 measures for other violations.
During the control operation, one motorcycle was confiscated due to reckless driving, while two motorcycles were temporarily seized because they had been unregistered for more than six months.
Traffic controls will continue in the coming period. We appeal to all road users to respect traffic rules and regulations so that together we can contribute to safer roads throughout the country.
