Today (March 25, 2026), from 7:00 AM to 1:00 PM, the Mobile Traffic Safety Unit of the Traffic Department carried out an enforcement operation in the area of the city of Tetovo, focusing on general checks of vehicles and drivers in public traffic.
During the inspection, five measures were issued for conducting public passenger transport without a medical certificate, one measure for a technically defective vehicle, three measures for expired traffic permits, three measures for operating a motor vehicle with an inappropriate category, three measures for novice drivers, six measures for not possessing the required equipment in the vehicle, ten measures for overloading cargo and unsecured loads, four measures for using a mobile phone while operating a motor vehicle, and four measures for other offenses. Nine requests for initiating misdemeanor proceedings against legal and responsible persons have also been submitted.
Two individuals were deprived of their liberty, and two vehicles were temporarily confiscated for committing a criminal offense under Article 297-a of the Criminal Code – "reckless operation of a motor vehicle," specifically without a driver's license, while one vehicle was confiscated due to an expired traffic permit exceeding six months.
Enforcement operations will continue in the upcoming period to enhance safety and protect participants in traffic.
