Today (24.03.2026), in the period from 08:00 to 12:00, the Mobile Unit for Road Traffic Safety within the Traffic Affairs Sector carried out an action control in the area of the city of Skopje, aimed at supervising drivers and vehicles performing public passenger transport.
During the control, six measures were imposed on drivers performing public passenger transport without possessing the mandatory medical certificate, four measures for technically defective vehicles used for public transport, four measures for transporting more passengers than allowed in the vehicle registration, one measure for an expired driver’s license, one measure for operating a bus with an inappropriate driving category, one measure for failure to conduct an extraordinary technical inspection of a bus, and eight measures for other violations. Additionally, 14 requests were submitted to initiate misdemeanor proceedings against legal entities and responsible persons.
One person was deprived of liberty, and one vehicle was temporarily seized for committing a criminal offense under Article 297-a of the Criminal Code – “reckless driving of a motor vehicle,” specifically for performing public transport without possessing a valid driver’s license.
Action controls will continue in the upcoming period with the aim of increasing safety and protecting participants and passengers in traffic.
