On 02/03 January 2026 in Skopje, in the areas of the municipalities of Aerodrom and Bit Pazar, police officers from SIA Skopje deprived D.P. (48) from Skopje, D.Zh. (18) from the village of Brazda, Chucher-Sandevo Municipality, and J.F. (28) from the Republic of Türkiye of their liberty, after powdery substance and marijuana were found and seized from them. Following full documentation of the cases, appropriate criminal charges will be filed.
On 02 January 2026 at 15:36, SIA Gostivar received a report that on the regional road Mavrovi Anovi–Debar, a passenger vehicle “Volkswagen Bora” with Gostivar license plates, driven by A.F. (56) from the village of Vidushe, Mavrovo and Rostushe Municipality, left the roadway and fell into the Radika River. As a result of the injuries sustained, the driver and his passenger M.F. (56) from the village of Vidushe died at the scene. A doctor from the Emergency Medical Service pronounced death, and following instructions from a public prosecutor, the vehicle was seized at a police station for an extraordinary technical inspection, while the bodies were sent for autopsy. An on-site inspection was carried out by an inspection team from SIA Gostivar.
On 02 January 2026 in Kochani, police officers from SIA Kochani deprived L.P. (20) from Kochani and M.G. (18) from the village of Grdovci, Kochani region, of their liberty, after marijuana and money were found and seized from them. Following full documentation of the cases, appropriate criminal charges will be filed.
On 02 January 2026, in the premises of the Department for Cross-Border Crime, Migration, Foreigners and Readmission Skopje, police officers deprived S.K. (46) from the Republic of Türkiye of his liberty. Following checks conducted with Interpol Türkiye, it was established that the Certificate of No Criminal Record issued by the General Directorate for Criminal Records and Statistics within the Ministry of Justice of Türkiye, which he submitted as part of his application for temporary residence based on employment, was forged, i.e. it had not been issued by the General Directorate. A public prosecutor was notified and, following full documentation of the case, a criminal complaint will be filed against him under Article 378 of the Criminal Code.
On 03 January 2026 at 02:35, SIA Gostivar received a report that on “Ilindenska” Street in Gostivar, a passenger vehicle “BMW” with Gostivar license plates, driven by L.B. (27) from the village of Gradec, Vrapchishte Municipality, collided with a parked passenger vehicle “Mercedes” with Gostivar license plates, parked by E.S. (19) from the village of Zdunje, Gostivar region. In the accident, the passenger V.A. (27) from the village of Gradec sustained serious bodily injuries, while the driver and another passenger N.I. (37) from the village of Gradec sustained bodily injuries, as confirmed at the Medical Center Gostivar. An on-site inspection was conducted by an inspection team from SIA Gostivar.
On 02 January 2026 around 09:30 in the village of Lazhani, Dolneni Municipality, police officers from the Police Unit Ropotovo deprived M.S. (36) and S.B. (29), both from the village of Lazhani, of their liberty. M.S., driving a “Fiat Croma” with Prilep license plates, and B.S., driving a “Mercedes” with German license plates, were part of a convoy of vehicles for a family celebration, during which several shots were fired from firearms. A gas pistol “Desert Eagle” with 40 rounds of 9mm caliber was seized from M.S., while a gas pistol “Walther” with 12 rounds of 9mm caliber was seized from B.S. A public prosecutor was notified and, following full documentation of the case, appropriate criminal charges will be filed against them.
On 02 January 2026 at 11:30, at SIA Kumanovo, Z.S. (54) from Shtip, an inmate at the Correctional Facility Prison “K’šanje” in Kumanovo, reported that on 11 December 2025 around 14:00, in a room at the prison where he was with four other persons, the inmate D.A. physically assaulted him, causing him to fall and lose consciousness. According to the report, the attacks by D.A. continued until he was transported to the hospital in Kumanovo, where serious bodily injuries were diagnosed. Following full documentation of the case, appropriate criminal charges will be filed.
On 02 January 2026 at 17:45 in the village of Strimnica, Tetovo region, police officers from the Police Unit Grupchin deprived F.B. (34) from the village of his liberty, acting upon a prior report that around 10:00, in the premises of the Municipality of Zhelino, he threatened B.S. (40) from the village of Kopachin Dol, Mayor of Zhelino Municipality, with a sharp object. He was detained at a police station and, following full documentation of the case, appropriate criminal charges will be filed against him.
On 03 January 2026 at 01:30 in Skopje, in the area of Shuto Orizari, police officers from SIA Skopje apprehended S.R. (26) from Skopje for behaving aggressively toward police officers while they were performing official duties. Following full documentation of the case, an appropriate report will be filed.
On 02 January 2026 at 18:35, SIA Shtip received a report that around 18:30 on “YNA” Boulevard in Shtip, a chimney fire occurred in a residential building affecting apartments from the first to the fifth floor. No injuries were reported, and the fire was extinguished by a team from the Territorial Firefighting Unit Shtip. An on-site inspection was carried out by an inspection team from SIA Shtip.
On 02 January 2026 at 15:01, SIA Shtip received a report that around 06:00 a chimney fire broke out in an apartment on “9 May” Street in Shtip, owned by S.A. (41) from Shtip. Due to smoke inhalation, his father D.A. (65) and his 39-year-old sister S.D., both from Shtip, were transported to the “Mother Teresa” Clinical Complex in Skopje for medical assistance. Another apartment, owned by L.K. (61) from Shtip, was also affected by the fire. The fire was localized by the Territorial Firefighting Unit Shtip. A public prosecutor from the Basic Public Prosecutor’s Office Shtip was notified. An on-site inspection was conducted by an inspection team from SIA Shtip.
On 02 January 2026 at 23:30, at SIA Skopje, O.J. (42) from Veles, residing in Skopje, and D.P. (29) from Skopje reported that around 18:35 in the area of Karposh they were attacked by a dog with an owner, which attacked them and their pets. An on-site inspection was carried out by an inspection team from SIA Skopje, and an official interview was conducted with the dog’s owner. Following full documentation of the case, appropriate criminal charges will be filed.
On 02 January 2026 at 20:10, SIA Skopje received a report from the Dračevo Polyclinic that B.C. (19) from Skopje had been brought in with injuries. According to the report, around 19:45 at a location known as “Pelenica” in the Dračevo neighborhood, following a prior argument, he was physically assaulted by A.I. (20) from Skopje, who also used a hard object. Following full documentation of the case, an appropriate report will be filed.
