Preventive activities to enhance traffic safety and prevent property crimes, violence, and addictions

 

Today (September 29, 2026), police officers from the Regional Police Departments of Veles and Stip conducted preventive activities aimed at safer traffic in the areas of Kavadarci, Chashka, Stip, Vinica, and Berovo. Drivers were reminded of their obligation and the necessity to adhere to traffic rules and regulations, emphasizing that they must carefully operate their vehicles, adjust their speed, wear seat belts, refrain from driving under the influence of alcohol, avoid using mobile phones, and follow a series of useful tips to raise public awareness about enhancing traffic safety and improving traffic culture. In the central area of Tetovo, police officers from the Prevention Department of the Regional Police Department of Tetovo carried out a preventive activity focused on pedestrian safety, reminding them of their responsibilities when participating in traffic, that they must cross the street at designated crosswalks, avoid using mobile phones and headphones while crossing, and adhere to other rules necessary for their safe participation in traffic as pedestrians. Additionally, drivers were informed that they must fully respect the rules, specifically giving priority to pedestrians when crossing roadways.

At the Primary School "Cyril and Methodius" in Sveti Nikole, the Primary School "Malina Popivanova" in Kochani, and the Primary School "Braka Miladinovci" in Probishtip, police officers from the Regional Police Department of Stip explained to the children how to navigate traffic safely, ensuring they can travel from school to home and back without incident.

Police officers from the Regional Police Departments of Veles and Kumanovo conducted preventive activities in Veles and Kumanovo to prevent property crimes, sharing useful advice with citizens on how to protect themselves from various forms of theft, safeguard their homes, and be vigilant with their personal belongings. As part of these activities, printed educational materials were distributed.

In Probistip, police officers from the Probistip Police Station carried out a preventive initiative aimed at informing citizens on how to protect themselves from human trafficking, while police officers from the Regional Police Department of Bitola conducted preventive activities at the "Stiv Naumov" Primary School in Bitola to prevent peer violence and substance abuse.
