Preventive activities for traffic safety, aimed at protection against pickpocketing, preventing peer violence, and safeguarding against vehicle theft

Today (09.09.2026) in Bitola, police officers from the Bitola Police Department conducted a preventive activity titled "You and I are Pedestrians." Citizens were reminded of the importance of adhering to traffic rules and regulations to reduce the risks of traffic accidents. Meanwhile, drivers were emphasized the necessity of respecting the rule to yield to pedestrians, and they were also given leaflets produced by the Republic of North Macedonia Police.

On 09.09.2026 at the City Market in Vinica, police officers from the Vinica Police Station implemented an educational campaign under the motto "Let's Protect Ourselves from Pickpocketing." During meetings with citizens, advice was provided on self-protection against property crimes (robbery, theft, bold theft, pickpocketing, and other criminal acts), and the necessity for cooperation and timely communication with the police was highlighted, primarily through accurate and prompt reporting to the emergency number 112, while educational leaflets were distributed.

On September 9, 2026, the Prevention Department of the Skopje Police Department conducted a preventive educational activity under the motto "Stop Bullying" in elementary schools within the jurisdiction of the Bit Pazar Police Station. The primary goal was to raise awareness among parents and students. Bullying is no joke, it is not "child's play," and it should not be ignored. Every child has the right to feel safe, accepted, and respected – in school, in their classroom, and among their peers. Insults, mockery, humiliation, threats, physical violence, intentional exclusion from social groups, as well as derogatory messages and posts on social media can seriously impact a child's self-esteem and mental well-being, while also affecting their safety. Therefore, the fight against bullying is a shared responsibility of relevant institutions, parents, and students. Today in Skopje, in the area of the Center Police Station, the Prevention Department of the Skopje Police Department carried out a preventive educational campaign under the motto "Don't Leave Valuables in Your Car."

The main goal was to enhance the security culture among citizens regarding property crimes, as well as to strengthen trust and cooperation between the police and the public. Specifically, during the activity, citizens were informed about self-protection methods to avoid becoming easy targets for criminals. Additionally, educational materials with recommendations were distributed to citizens to raise security awareness.
