Preventive activities for safe traffic and the prevention of weapon use and property crimes


 Today (May 11, 2026), police officers from the Police Station in Kavadarci conducted a preventive activity on the theme "Buckle Up." Through direct communication, drivers were reminded of their obligation to wear seat belts in vehicles, as well as to strictly adhere to all traffic rules and regulations. It was emphasized that the use of seat belts is a legal requirement for both drivers and passengers in vehicles, aimed at enhancing personal safety. Additionally, police officers from the Police Station in Negotino carried out a preventive activity on the theme "Protect Yourself from Theft," advising citizens on how to safeguard themselves against various forms of property crimes. As part of the activities, printed educational materials were distributed.

The Prevention Department of the Police Directorate in Skopje, along with students from the Primary School "Grigor Prlichev" in the municipality of Gazi Baba, conducted an educational activity on the role of pedestrians in traffic and other components that build traffic culture among children of that age. During this, the children were explained the basic traffic concepts, rules and regulations, the role of police officers in traffic, as well as the way to interact with citizens, adapted to their age. Police officers from the Police Station in Kochani reminded citizens that if they operate a vehicle under the influence of alcohol, they endanger not only their own safety but also that of other participants in traffic. 

At the Municipal Primary School "Brotherhood-Migjeni" in Tetovo, police officers from the Prevention Unit and the Police Department of the Police Directorate in Tetovo, along with representatives from the OSCE Mission, conducted an educational activity as part of the campaign to raise public awareness about preventing the misuse of small and light weapons. The educational lecture was conducted with an interactive approach, aiming to raise awareness among the younger population regarding the consequences and legal implications if they become involved in such deviant behaviors.
