Today (07.07.2026), police officers from the Prevention Department of the Police Directorate in Veles and the Prevention Unit of the Police Directorate in Skopje conducted preventive activities on the theme "Protection from pickpocketing and fraud." Citizens were informed about ways to protect themselves from various types and forms of theft and fraud, with the aim of increasing their level of personal and property security. The activity was particularly aimed at the elderly population, who are frequent targets of various types of property crimes, emphasizing the need to be vigilant with their personal belongings and to exercise caution when communicating with strangers. Additionally, the Prevention Department of the Police Directorate in Veles carried out preventive activities on the theme "There is help for a life without violence," informing citizens about the procedures and steps to take in such cases and the availability of services for assistance, protection, and temporary shelter, highlighting the importance of timely reporting of all forms of violence. A preventive activity for protection against fraud was also conducted today in the area of Negotino.
Police officers from the Public Security Bureau of the Police Directorate in Veles and the Public Security Bureau in Kochani, Stip, and Probistip carried out a traffic preventive activity on the theme "Do not use your mobile phone while driving," stressing to drivers the risks of using a mobile phone while operating a vehicle, while police officers from the Police Station in Kavadarci and the Police Station in Valandovo conducted preventive activities aimed at motorcyclists regarding the importance of wearing a helmet and the need for safe participation in traffic.
Police officers from the Prevention Department of the SVR Skopje, SVR Veles, PO Chashka, and OVK Berovo in Skopje, Berovo, as well as in the villages of Ivankovci, Mamutchево, and Karaslari, in the Veles region and the municipality of Chashka, today carried out preventive activities for fire protection, during which citizens were reminded of the need for greater caution due to the risk of wildfires during the summer months, especially when engaging in agricultural work. As part of the preventive activities, educational materials were also distributed and printed.
