Today (February 12, 2026), the Prevention Unit of the Regional Police Department of Veles conducted a preventive-educational activity at several locations in Veles under the motto "Don't forget, we are all pedestrians, be responsible in traffic," focusing on pedestrian safety. Drivers were urged to reduce their speed when approaching pedestrian crossings and to yield to pedestrians, while pedestrians were reminded that, as active participants in traffic, they also have an obligation to respect traffic rules and regulations, noting that they should only cross the street at marked pedestrian crossings, avoiding the use of headphones and mobile phones, and being cautious, especially in the evening hours when moving in poorly lit areas. Additionally, police officers from the Traffic Safety Department of the Police Station in Kavadarci conducted a preventive activity on the theme "Buckle Up" on the regional road Rosoman-Kavadarci, informing citizens that wearing a seatbelt is a legal obligation for both drivers and passengers in vehicles, aimed at increasing personal safety. As part of the preventive activities, printed educational materials with recommendations for safe participation in traffic were distributed, created in collaboration with the National Council for Road Traffic Safety and the Faculty of Security in Skopje.
The preventive activity "Buckle Up" was also carried out by police officers from the Police Station in Delcevo, while in Stip and Kocani, the preventive activities focused on the need for proper parking of vehicles to ensure safety in traffic, primarily for pedestrians and cyclists. In Delcevo, a preventive-educational activity for protection against theft and fraud was also conducted, during which police officers informed residents of these areas on how to protect themselves from various types and forms of theft and fraud.
