Today (30.12.2025), police officers from the Prevention Department and the Road Traffic Safety Police Station within SIA Veles carried out traffic preventive activities at several locations in Veles under the motto “Drive responsibly, travel safely.” Drivers were reminded of their obligation to respect traffic laws and regulations, not to drive under the influence of alcohol, to comply with speed limits, and during the holidays, if there is no real need, to avoid using their vehicles. As part of the activity, printed educational materials were distributed, prepared in cooperation with the Republic Council for Road Traffic Safety and the Faculty of Security in Skopje.
Preventive activities on traffic safety were also carried out in Berovo and Pehchevo. During these activities, attention was drawn to the most common causes of traffic accidents, such as failure to comply with traffic rules and regulations, inappropriate speed, driving under the influence of alcohol and other psychoactive substances, as well as the use of mobile phones while driving. Additionally, the obligation to use seat belts, protective helmets, and to respect pedestrian crossings was emphasized.
At the same time, today in the central city area of the Municipality of Probishtip, a preventive activity was conducted aimed at raising awareness of the harmful consequences of the use of weapons and pyrotechnic devices. Within the activity, educational leaflets were distributed to citizens, especially the younger population, and the dangers and risks of using pyrotechnic devices, possible consequences, as well as the legal regulations were presented.
