On 16 February 2026 in Skopje, in the Bit Pazar area, the Prevention Department at SIA Skopje, in cooperation with the Republic Council for Road Traffic Safety, carried out traffic-preventive activities under the motto “Use Winter Equipment.” As part of the activities, drivers were provided with educational leaflets prepared by the Republic Council for Road Traffic Safety, containing messages on responsible driving in winter conditions and in accordance with the applicable legal regulations.
During direct communication, drivers were also reminded of the rules that must be observed for safe vehicle operation, including the mandatory adjustment of speed to road conditions.
In the Municipality of Aerodrom, the Prevention Department at SIA Skopje implemented a preventive activity titled “Beware of Telephone Scams.” The aim of the activity was to inform elderly citizens, who are more frequently targeted by this type of fraud, on how to recognize such scams and avoid becoming victims. The most common types of scams involve unknown individuals misleading citizens by claiming that their family members have been involved in traffic accidents, falsely presenting themselves as police officers, doctors, or lawyers, and requesting a certain amount of money.
Today (17 February 2026), police officers from SIA Shtip also carried out preventive activities for safer traffic. In Shtip, the focus was placed on raising awareness about the importance of vehicle roadworthiness and the significance of regular vehicle inspection and maintenance. In direct communication, drivers were informed that technical malfunctions are often a contributing factor in traffic accidents and significantly affect the safety of all road users.
In Kochani, drivers were advised not to use mobile phones while driving, as this can have catastrophic consequences.
In Berovo, police officers from PS Berovo conducted a preventive activity on the topic “Prevention of Peer and Cyber Violence” with students from the primary school “Dedo Iljo Maleshevski” in Berovo. The students were informed about how to recognize and report such deviant behavior, as well as how to prevent it.
