Preventive activities by the Police Department of Ohrid, the Police Department of Bitola, and the Police Department of Štip aimed at preventing addiction and violence, as well as protecting against fraud and the illegal use of pyrotechnics

Today (December 1, 2025), the Police Station of Struga began implementing educational campaigns and workshops targeted at the youth, focused on combating drug, alcohol, and smoking addictions. Police officers at the "Ibrahim Temo" high school in Struga engaged in interactive communication with students, discussing the consequences of addictions, as well as prevention methods and the legal penalties for breaking the laws, while educational leaflets were also distributed. Police officers from the Prevention Unit of the Police Department of Ohrid held a meeting with representatives from the Association of Pensioners of Ohrid and Debrca aimed at preventing telephone scams related to alleged traffic accidents, primarily targeting older individuals. The need for citizens to be vigilant was emphasized, ensuring they are adequately informed about this phenomenon and quickly report such cases to help identify the perpetrators.

On the topic of addiction prevention, police officers from the Police Department of Štip, specifically from the Police Station of Sveti Nikole, conducted educational lectures at the "Goce Delchev" Primary School and the "Cyril and Methodius" Primary School. Police officers from the Police Station of Berovo carried out preventive activities in Berovo to raise public awareness among citizens, especially the youth, about the dangers and consequences of using firecrackers and other pyrotechnic devices. They pointed out that the use of pyrotechnic devices can lead to serious bodily injuries, fires, property damage, etc., and reminded of the sanctions in case of non-compliance with the laws. In Štip, at the "Vancho Prkje" Primary School, police officers from the Police Station of Štip held an educational workshop on the prevention of bullying and peer violence.

In the territory of the Bitola Police Department, yesterday (November 30, 2025), police officers from the Prevention Unit of the Bitola Police Department and the Kривогаштани Police Station conducted a preventive activity at the "Мачну Матак" elementary school in Kривогаштани on the theme "There is help for a life without violence." Through direct communication, citizens were informed about the occurrences of domestic violence, as well as their rights and protective measures in the presence of any form of domestic violence. As part of the activity, printed educational materials containing informative content on protection from domestic violence were also distributed.
