On 11 October 2026, the Prevention Unit at the Tetovo Sector for Internal Affairs conducted a preventive activity to mark the start of the new hunting season. Police officers attended the opening of the season organised by the “Bujna Leska” Hunting Association from Brvenica, at the “Chuka” locality (in the area of the village of Volkoviya), where they met with the association’s management and members.
During the meeting, hunters were reminded of the obligation to comply with the Law on Hunting and the Law on Weapons, and to use firearms exclusively for their legally permitted purpose. Before every shot, hunters must positively identify their target and ensure that no other hunters, hikers or farmers are in the vicinity. Handling firearms under the influence of alcohol or psychoactive substances is strictly prohibited.
Hunters were also urged to report individuals hunting without a permit or outside the permitted hunting days.
The Tetovo Sector for Internal Affairs calls on everyone to act conscientiously and responsibly in order to prevent accidents and protect the lives and health of all participants in hunting activities and members of the public.
