On 30 July 2026 at 10:00 p.m. in the village of Gabrovo, near Strumica, police officers from the Strumica Police Department arrested B.K. (63) from Strumica, who was staying in the village.
Police officers observed the man starting a fire in the yard of his property, which subsequently spread towards the street. Firefighters from the Strumica Territorial Firefighting Unit extinguished the blaze, and no injuries were reported.
The individual was taken into custody at the Strumica Police Station. A breathalyzer test showed a blood alcohol concentration of 2.04‰ (promille).
The incident was reported to a public prosecutor from the Basic Public Prosecutor’s Office in Strumica. Upon completion of the investigation and documentation of the case, the appropriate criminal or misdemeanor charges will be filed.
