On 30 September 2026, from 07:00 to 12:00 hrs, the Ministry of Interior’s Traffic Affairs Sector conducted a strengthened nationwide enforcement operation targeting freight vehicles, as well as motor vehicles entering traffic from unpaved roads, construction sites and other surfaces and leaving mud on the roadway.
Controls of freight vehicles focused on detecting violations related to overloading, improperly placed or unsecured cargo, technical defects, unauthorized transportation of persons and other offences.
During the operation, a total of 738 vehicles were inspected, of which 184 were referred for technical inspection. A total of 112 violations were detected, most of them in the areas covered by the Tetovo Sector of Internal Affairs (28), the Skopje Sector of Internal Affairs (23) and the Shtip Sector of Internal Affairs (20), while the remaining violations were detected in the areas covered by the other Sectors of Internal Affairs.
A total of 112 measures were taken in response to the detected violations. Thirty-seven vehicles were taken out of traffic, while in 13 cases requests were submitted to initiate misdemeanor proceedings. Appropriate measures were taken and sanctions were imposed in accordance with the law for all detected offences.
During the operation, 162 other traffic violations were also detected.
The Ministry of Interior will continue conducting strengthened traffic controls with the aim of enhancing road safety, preventing violations and ensuring consistent compliance with traffic rules and regulations.
