Driving at 203 km/h on the Skopje–Sveti Nikole motorway – measures taken against the driver

Today (07.10.2026) at 16:00, on the Skopje–Sveti Nikole motorway, approximately 3 kilometres before the Preod interchange, police officers from the Mobile Traffic Safety Unit within the Traffic Affairs Sector, using a “LaserCam 4” speed measuring device, recorded a speed of 203 kilometres per hour by a “Mercedes” passenger vehicle with Skopje registration plates.

The vehicle was travelling outside a built-up area, where the maximum permitted speed is 130 kilometres per hour.

Appropriate measures have been taken against the driver in accordance with the Law on Road Traffic Safety.

Traffic controls continue throughout the country, with the aim of sanctioning offenders, increasing road safety and protecting all road users.

The Ministry of Interior appeals to all road users to comply with traffic rules and regulations and to adjust their speed to the road conditions, thereby jointly contributing to safer roads.
