Yesterday, six reported cases of domestic violence, five persons deprived of liberty in Gostivar, Kriva Palanka, Bitola and Ohrid

On 10.03.2026 at 22:30, police officers from the Department of Internal Affairs Gostivar deprived J.Z. (27) from the village of Dolna Banjica, Gostivar area, of his liberty, acting upon a prior report from his 26-year-old wife stating that, due to a mutual misunderstanding, he had sent threats to her mother on a social network.

On 10.03.2026 at 12:05, police officers from the Department of Internal Affairs Kriva Palanka deprived T.D. (18) from Kriva Palanka of his liberty because he physically assaulted his father.

On 10.03.2026 at 00:45, police officers from the Department of Internal Affairs Kriva Palanka deprived E.V.M. (49) from Kriva Palanka of his liberty because he physically assaulted a 16-year-old, the son of his wife.

On 10.03.2026, police officers from the Sector for Internal Affairs Bitola deprived I.R. (33) from a village in the Bitola area of his liberty because, according to the report, he physically assaulted his 25-year-old wife in the family home.

On 10.03.2026 at 14:30 at the Department of Internal Affairs Prilep, a 45-year-old woman from Prilep reported that she had been physically assaulted by her husband E.Sh. in the family home in Prilep.

On 10.03.2026 at 23:15 in Ohrid, police officers from the Sector for Internal Affairs Ohrid deprived O.L. (44) from Ohrid of his liberty because he had previously physically assaulted his unmarried partner and their minor child in the family home.

Measures are being taken to clarify the cases and, after their full documentation, appropriate charges will be filed against the perpetrators.
