During yesterday (12.03.2026), in the period from 14:00 to 21:00, the Mobile Unit for Road Traffic Safety at the Traffic Affairs Sector carried out a traffic enforcement operation in the area of SVR Ohrid – OVR Struga, aimed at sanctioning drivers who do not comply with traffic rules and regulations.
During the control, a total of 57 measures were imposed for committed traffic violations. Of these, four were for expired vehicle registration validity, one measure for operating a motor vehicle without the appropriate category of driving license, three measures for failure to conduct an extraordinary technical inspection of vehicles performing public passenger transport, one measure for a driver performing public passenger transport without a medical certificate, seven measures for freight motor vehicles related to overloading, extraordinary transport and failure to use a tarpaulin, five measures for not possessing mandatory equipment in the vehicle, two measures for using a mobile phone while driving, two measures for faulty light signaling devices, and 21 measures for other violations. Additionally, 11 requests were submitted to initiate misdemeanor proceedings against legal entities and responsible persons.
One person was deprived of liberty for committing a criminal offense under Article 297-a of the Criminal Code – “reckless driving of a motor vehicle”, namely driving without a valid driving license, and one vehicle was seized due to the expiration of the vehicle registration validity for more than six months.
Appropriate submissions were prepared for all perpetrators of traffic violations.
