Toshkovski: The fight against crime and corruption is conducted without selectivity – institutions act based on evidence and law

The Minister of Internal Affairs, Panche Toshkovski, during his appearance on the show "Evening Show with Bogdan Ilievski" on Alpha Television, addressed several current security issues, emphasizing the determination of institutions in the fight against crime and corruption, as well as the need for consistent adherence to the rule of law.

Toshkovski highlighted that the Ministry of Internal Affairs continuously works on strengthening institutional capacities and improving mechanisms for detecting and preventing crime, processing each case based on evidence and in coordination with the relevant prosecutor's offices and other institutions.

"Our goal is for institutions to operate professionally, transparently, and without selectivity. The fight against crime and corruption must not depend on anyone's personal or political interests, but solely on facts and evidence. The law must apply equally to all," emphasized Toshkovski.

The Minister stressed that citizens' trust in institutions is built through concrete results, consistent actions, and a clear message that no one is above the law.

"When institutions operate professionally and responsibly, citizens recognize that commitment. Our task is to demonstrate that the system works, that every case is thoroughly investigated, and that no one is untouchable when it comes to breaking the law. Only in this way can trust in the institutions be restored," the minister pointed out.

Toshkovski added that the fight against organized crime, corruption, and economic crime is one of the priorities of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, with intensive activities being undertaken to uncover criminal networks and prosecute all involved parties.

"We are working systematically, through coordination with the prosecutor's offices, financial institutions, and other relevant authorities. This fight requires perseverance, professionalism, and strong institutional cooperation, as it involves complex cases that often have an international dimension," the minister emphasized.

Reflecting on the drug seizure case in Serbia, Toshkovski highlighted that the relevant institutions are actively working to establish all circumstances related to the case, in close cooperation with partner services from the region and Europe.

"Transnational crime demands strong international cooperation. The exchange of information and coordination with partner institutions from the region and Europe are key to successfully dismantling criminal networks and establishing the full truth about such cases. Our obligation is to ascertain all the facts and act in accordance with the law," stated Toshkovski.

The minister noted that the Ministry of Internal Affairs continues its activities aimed at modernizing police services, improving operational capacities, and enhancing investigative mechanisms, in order to more effectively tackle all forms of crime.

"Modern crime is evolving and becoming increasingly sophisticated, which is why institutions must constantly enhance their capacities, technology, and methodologies. Only with strong, professional, and modern institutions can we effectively combat these phenomena," emphasized Toshkovski.

He stressed that the Ministry of Internal Affairs remains committed to creating a safe society governed by the rule of law, where institutions operate solely in the interest of the citizens.

"Our obligation is to ensure a system that functions efficiently and fairly. Citizens should know that institutions are taking action, that every case is examined carefully, and that the fight against crime is conducted consistently, professionally, and without compromise. Only with such an approach can we build a society where justice is equal for all," stated Minister Toshkovski.
