On May 14, 2026, in the Center area of Skopje, police officers from the Violent Crime Unit – Department of Violent Crime at the Skopje Police Department arrested E.I. (26) from Skopje on reasonable suspicion of committing the criminal offense of "extortion" under Article 259 of the Criminal Code.
Specifically, on May 13, 2026, a 61-year-old Skopje resident reported at As reported, he had arranged with the individual to give him 4,000 euros and had set the time and place for the handover of the money, after which he reported to the police station and was given money that had been processed for forensic examination.
After the individual took the money with the envelope, he was observed by police officers and was detained, after which it was determined that he was E.I. from Skopje. During the detention, he pushed a police officer, who sustained injuries, and attempted to flee, but was caught and apprehended. Following the complete documentation of the case, an appropriate report will be filed against him.
