The Unit for Violent Crime within the Skopje Internal Affairs Sector (SVR Skopje), namely the Department for Violent Crime and the Department for Domestic Violence, solved several criminal cases and, in coordination with the Skopje Public Prosecutor’s Office, filed criminal charges against two persons from Skopje.
The Department for Violent Crime filed a criminal charge against D.V. (37) on reasonable suspicion of committing the criminal offence of “attempted murder” under Article 123 in conjunction with Article 19 of the Criminal Code. On 07 August 2026, at around 21:10, following a previous argument, he attacked A.K. (38) from Skopje with a knife, inflicting serious bodily injuries, which were confirmed at the PHI “St. Naum Ohridski”. Immediately afterwards, at 21:35, he was detained and the knife was found. Following the documentation of the case, a criminal charge was filed against him, after which he was brought before a pre-trial judge, who ordered him to be remanded in custody for 30 days.
Meanwhile, the Department for Domestic Violence filed a criminal charge against S.R. (57) on reasonable suspicion of committing the criminal offences of “serious bodily injury” under Article 131 and “bodily injury” under Article 130 of the Criminal Code.
He is suspected of having physically assaulted his 47-year-old wife, their two daughters and their son on several occasions. The most recent incident occurred on 07 August 2026, when, at the family home in the Skopje area, he attacked his wife and one of his daughters with a hard object, inflicting serious bodily injury on his wife and bodily injury on his daughter. Following measures taken, on 08 August 2026 at 09:40, he was detained and, in consultation with the Public Prosecutor’s Office, a criminal charge was filed against him under an expedited procedure. A pre-trial judge ordered him to be remanded in custody for eight days.
