The General Director for Public Security of the Republic of Austria, Franz Ruf, is on a working visit to Macedonia, during which he met today (October 12, 2026) with the Director of the Bureau for Public Safety, Aleksandar Janev.
The meeting addressed the current security situations in both countries, shared security challenges, as well as the current conditions and trends in the field of migration and migratory flows.
Special emphasis was placed on enhancing mutual cooperation between police services through the exchange of experiences, knowledge, and best practices, as well as through the implementation of joint training, aimed at strengthening professional capacities and effectiveness in addressing contemporary security challenges.
The meeting represents an opportunity to deepen the partnership and continue the successful collaboration between the two institutions, in the direction of enhancing security and strengthening the joint response to current challenges.
