Today (September 25, 2026) at 7:20 AM on the local road from Kumanovo to Tabanovce, specifically in the village of Tabanovce, police officers from the Mobile Traffic Safety Unit of the Traffic Department conducted a check on a passenger vehicle (van) with Kumanovo license plates, owned by a legal entity from Kumanovo, which is engaged in public transportation of passengers (organized transportation of students). It was determined that the vehicle was carrying 18 passengers (children), while according to the traffic permit, a maximum of 9 individuals is allowed in the vehicle. The driver, S.P. (49) from Kumanovo, was transporting 10 more passengers (children) than permitted.
An extraordinary technical inspection of the vehicle was also conducted at a technical inspection station by qualified personnel, which revealed a technical malfunction of the vehicle, specifically issues with the braking systems (braking force of the service brake and auxiliary brake).
Appropriate measures have been taken against the legal entity, the responsible person within the legal entity, and the driver S.P. (49) from Kumanovo, who will face legally prescribed sanctions, while the vehicle has been removed from traffic until the deficiencies are rectified.
