The Tetovo Internal Affairs Sector – the Department for Computer Crime, in coordination with the Sector for Computer Crime and Digital Forensics at the Ministry of Internal Affairs, has fully clarified the case related to a video posted on the social media platform "TikTok," which shows the burning of the Macedonian flag.
On September 22, 2026, during monitoring of social media, police officers detected a video post containing content that constitutes the criminal offense of "inciting hatred, discord, or intolerance on national, religious, and other discriminatory grounds," as stipulated and punishable under Article 319, paragraph 1 of the Criminal Code.
Following operational measures and activities, on September 23, 2026, the identity of the profile's author was established. The individual in question is a minor under the age of 14 from Tetovo.
In the police premises, in the presence of a parent and representatives from the Tetovo Center for Social Work, an official conversation was conducted with the minor, during which he confessed to the act. With the parent's consent, for the needs of the procedure and the photographic documentation of the evidence, the mobile phone from which the video was posted has been secured.
During the official conversation, the minor pointed out three other minors who participated in the incident. They will be summoned to the police station for a complete clarification of the case.
After the complete documentation of the matter, an appropriate submission will be made to the competent Basic Public Prosecutor's Office in Tetovo.
