On August 17, 2026, around 10:00 PM in the village of Bogorodica, Gevgelija, police officers from the Border Surveillance and Checks Police Station in Bogorodica detained R.S. (59) from Latvia. During a check of a passenger vehicle, a Fiat Tipo with Skopje license plates, which he was driving, ten migrants from Egypt were discovered.
The migrants have been placed in the "Vinojug" Transit Reception Center in Gevgelija, while R.S. has been handed over to the Gevgelija Police Station, and after the case is fully documented, appropriate charges will be filed against him.
