Today (April 30, 2026), at the Tabanovce Border Crossing, B.K. (44) from Prilep has been deprived of his freedom.
Following previously received information regarding the criminal act of "fraud," the Department of Criminal Police, in cooperation with the Police Station Strumica – Police Station Valandovo and Deparrtment for Special Operations, took coordinated measures and actions to resolve the case.
According to current findings, between July and November 2025, the suspect, with the intent to gain unlawful property benefits, deceived a person from Valandovo by presenting false facts that he would assist in organizing treatment abroad for his wife.
In this manner, the victim made multiple payments totaling approximately 88,300 euros (5,549,200 denars), meanwhile, his wife passed away.
The suspect has been brought before a preliminary proceedings judge at the Basic Court in Gevgelija, where a precautionary measure has been imposed.
