Members of the Ministry of Interior participated in an international ROADPOL seminar in Spain on the use of modern technologies in traffic enforcement

From 19 to 23 October 2026, members of the Advance and Traffic Escort Security Unit participated in the international seminar “Technology for Road Policing”, organised within the framework of the European Roads Policing Network – ROADPOL, in cooperation with the Traffic School of the Spanish Civil Guard. The seminar was held in Madrid and Mérida, Kingdom of Spain, and brought together police representatives from 20 European and Middle Eastern countries.

The event was dedicated to the exchange of professional experience, the presentation of modern technologies and the improvement of traffic control and monitoring methods, with the ultimate goal of increasing road safety and preventing traffic accidents.

The professional lectures and presentations covered several current topics, including new technological solutions for detecting traffic violations and improving road traffic safety.

As part of the programme, a demonstration exercise was also conducted by members of the Spanish Civil Guard, which included a demonstration of police motorcycles and precision and controlled motorcycle riding skills, as part of a presentation of their operational capabilities and the way they carry out police duties in traffic.

Participation in the seminar provided an opportunity to gain first-hand insight into modern European practices, exchange experiences with representatives of police services from the participating countries, and explore the possibilities for applying new technologies and methods in everyday police work.

The Traffic Affairs Sector within the Ministry of Interior continuously supports activities aimed at improving road safety, strengthening professional capacities and exchanging international experience, with the aim of applying modern approaches to police procedures and preventing traffic accidents more effectively.
