Police officers from the Department for Organized and Serious Crime, acting upon a request from a public prosecutor from the Prosecutor’s Office for Organized Crime and Corruption and based on a warrant issued by a pre-trial judge, carried out searches in a home and other premises in the area of Negotino, in order to find items originating from committed criminal offenses.
During the search, €350,000 were found hidden inside a walled-up space in the wall, for which there is suspicion that they were illegally acquired and concealed.
Today’s operation is the result of actions undertaken within an extensive investigation conducted by the Prosecutor’s Office for Organized Crime and Corruption, after a lawyer was suspected on December 14, 2025, of committing the criminal offense – Receiving a reward for unlawful influence.
This is one of the most extensive investigations into high-level corruption in the country so far, supported by information and reports from the National Security Agency.
The searches and other investigative actions are continuing, and the public will be informed about further developments in the case.
