Police officers recorded 1,322 traffic violations over the past two days; 32 people detained for reckless driving

During the past two days (10–11 August 2026), as a result of regular traffic controls carried out by police officers from all Sectors for Internal Affairs on roads throughout the country, a total of 1,322 payment orders were issued. Of these, 400 violations concerned drivers who failed to comply with the prescribed speed limits.

A total of 32 people were detained for reckless driving, including three for driving under the influence of alcohol, 15 for driving without a valid driver’s licence, and one for driving despite a previously imposed driving ban.

During the same period, 13 vehicles were seized pursuant to Article 300-b of the Criminal Code.

Furthermore, according to the statistical overview of police activities, 302 violations for improper parking were recorded over the past two days, while 16 sanctions were imposed for driving under the influence of alcohol.

On the other hand, in accordance with the provisions of the Law on Road Traffic Safety, 106 motorcycle riders were sanctioned for failing to wear protective helmets. A total of 67 road users were also sanctioned for failing to use seat belts.

In accordance with the Law on Vehicles, eight vehicles were removed from traffic because they were unregistered, while two were removed due to technical defects. Five drivers were also sanctioned for failing to meet the prescribed requirements regarding the tinting of vehicle windows (films).

Traffic controls will continue in the coming days. We appeal to all road users to respect traffic rules and regulations and to jointly contribute to safer roads.
