The Ministry of Internal Affairs informs citizens that starting tomorrow (February 1, 2026), the "Safe City" system will begin operating. The system will launch in the cities of Skopje, Kumanovo, and Tetovo, as well as on Corridors 8 and 10, initiating the sanctioning of citizens who commit offenses detected by cameras.
In the first phase, the system will detect four typical traffic violations:
• improper parking;
• driving over the speed limit;
• running a red light;
• operating a vehicle with an expired traffic permit.
The "Safe City" system is an extremely important investment in the safety of all citizens and the entire country; it will save lives, regulate traffic, and penalize those who refuse to respect traffic rules and regulations, to their own detriment and that of other road users. Cameras are installed at critical traffic points where violations frequently occur.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs appeals to citizens to respect traffic rules and regulations, and together we can contribute to better, safer, and more secure roads throughout the country.
