Today (April 3, 2026) at 7:45 AM on Boris Trajkovski Boulevard in Skopje, police officers from the Mobile Traffic Safety Unit of the Traffic Department conducted a check on a bus with Skopje license plates, owned by a legal entity from Skopje, which was providing public transport for passengers (organized transport of children). It was found that the bus was carrying 85 passengers, while the traffic permit allowed a maximum of 48 passengers; in other words, the driver J.D. (63) from Skopje was transporting 37 more passengers (children) than permitted.
An extraordinary technical inspection of the vehicle was also conducted at an authorized technical inspection station by qualified personnel, during which a technical malfunction of the vehicle was identified, specifically a malfunction of the braking systems (braking force of the service brake and auxiliary brake) and devices that ensure normal visibility (broken windshield).
Appropriate measures have been taken against the legal entity, the responsible person within the legal entity, and the driver J.D. (63) from Skopje, and they will face legally prescribed sanctions, while the vehicle has been removed from traffic until the deficiencies are rectified.
We urge all traffic participants to respect traffic rules and regulations, thereby collectively contributing to safer roads.
