Today (March 19, 2026), from 7:00 AM to 1:00 PM, the Mobile Unit for Traffic Safety within the Traffic Department carried out a targeted control in the area of the city of Štip to sanction drivers who do not adhere to traffic rules and regulations.
During the control, a total of 40 measures were issued for traffic violations. Among them, three for expired validity of the driving permit, one measure for operating a motor vehicle with faulty signaling devices, one measure for a novice driver, six measures for freight vehicles regarding overloading, extraordinary transport, and not using a tarpaulin, three measures for not possessing mandatory equipment in the vehicle, two measures for not using a seatbelt, five measures for using a mobile phone, one measure for not wearing a helmet, and six measures for other violations. Nine requests have also been submitted for initiating misdemeanor proceedings against legal and responsible entities.
Three individuals have been deprived of their freedom for committing a criminal offense under Article 297-a of the Criminal Code – "reckless operation of a motor vehicle," specifically without a driver's license.
Appropriate reports have been prepared for all offenders. Traffic controls will continue in the upcoming period.
