Six drivers deprived of liberty for driving under the influence of alcohol; drivers in Štip, the Struga area and the Radoviš area also caused traffic accidents

 

On 07 February 2026 at 00:58 on “7 Noemvri” Street in Gevgelija, police officers from the Strumica Police Directorate – Gevgelija Police Station deprived T.J. (52) from Gevgelija of his liberty. During a traffic control, police officers stopped a passenger vehicle “Volkswagen” with Gevgelija license plates, driven by T.J., and after taking measures it was established that he was under the influence of alcohol, namely that he had 2.97 per mille of alcohol in his blood.

On 06 February 2026 at 21:50, on the Struga–Qafasan main road, near Struga, I.M. (37) from Struga was deprived of his liberty. While driving a passenger vehicle “Audi” with Struga license plates, he caused a traffic accident, and after measures were taken and an alcohol test was performed, police officers determined that he had 1.96 per mille of alcohol in his blood.

On 06 February 2026 at 11:40 in the village of Injevo, Radoviš area, police officers from the Strumica Police Directorate – Radoviš Police Station deprived A.S. (38) from the same village of his liberty. At around 09:50, at the intersection of regional road R2433 and a local street in the village of Injevo, while driving a passenger vehicle “Renault” with Radoviš license plates, he caused a traffic accident and left the scene. After measures were taken by police officers, A.S. was located and an alcohol test established the presence of 2.64 per mille of alcohol in his blood.

On 07 February 2026 at 01:55 on “Solunska” Street in Bitola, police officers from the Bitola Police Directorate deprived D.J. (21) from Bitola of his liberty. During a traffic control, police officers stopped a passenger vehicle “Fiat” with Bitola license plates, driven by D.J., and it was established that he was driving under the influence of alcohol, namely that 1.63 per mille of alcohol in his blood was measured.

On 07 February 2026 at 01:20 on “Marshal Tito” Street in Negotino, police officers from the Mobile Unit for Compensatory Measures within the Department for Border Affairs and Migration deprived A.S. (25) from Negotino of his liberty. During a traffic control, a passenger vehicle “BMW” with Negotino license plates, driven by A.S., was stopped, and after measures were taken it was established that he was under the influence of alcohol, with 1.64 per mille of alcohol measured in his blood, and it was also determined that he did not possess a driver’s license.

On 06 February 2026 at 17:50 in Štip, police officers from the Štip Police Directorate deprived A.B. (56) from Štip of his liberty. According to the report, at around 15:30 on “Gjošo Slamkata” Street in Štip, while driving a passenger vehicle “Peugeot” with Štip license plates, A.B. lost control of the vehicle and struck a metal fence. After measures were taken, it was established that he was under the influence of alcohol, with 2.31 per mille of alcohol measured in his blood.

After the complete documentation of the cases, criminal charges will be filed under Article 297-a of the Criminal Code – “reckless driving of a motor vehicle”.
