Five drivers were detained in Štip, Tetovo, Gostivar, and Krivo Palanka for operating vehicles at speeds significantly exceeding the legal limit

On October 11, 2025, at 4:45 PM on the Štip - Kočani road, near the village of Krupište, police officers from the Štip Police Department arrested A.K. (57) from Štip. During a radar traffic control, the officers found that he was driving a Fiat passenger vehicle with Štip license plates at a speed of 91 kilometers per hour in a zone where the speed limit is 40 kilometers per hour.

On October 11, 2025, at 2:49 PM on Marshal Tito Boulevard in Tetovo, police officers arrested A.A. (42) from Skopje.During a radar check, the officers determined that he was driving a BMW at a speed of 106 kilometers per hour in a populated area where the speed limit is marked at 50 kilometers per hour. On October 11, 2025, at 2:48 PM on the Tetovo – Gostivar road, near the Gostivar toll booth, police officers from the Gostivar Police Department arrested F.T. (36) from Skopje. 

During a radar control, the officers found that he was driving a Mercedes passenger vehicle with Skopje license plates at a speed of 151 kilometers per hour in a zone where the speed limit is 80 kilometers per hour. 

On October 11, 2025, at 5:20 PM on the Tetovo – Gostivar road, near the Gostivar toll booth, police officers from the Gostivar Police Station detained H.S. (31) from the village of Rechane, Gostivar region. During a radar check, the police officers determined that he was driving a passenger vehicle, a BMW, with Gostivar license plates at a speed of 155 kilometers per hour in a zone where the speed limit is 80 kilometers per hour. 

On October 11, 2025, at 4:35 PM on the Kumanovo – Kriva Palanka road, in the village of Ginovce, Kriva Palanka region, police officers from the Kriva Palanka Police Station detained D.M. (23) from the village of Rankovce. During a traffic radar check, the police officers found that he was driving a passenger vehicle, a BMW, with Kriva Palanka license plates at a speed of 118 kilometers per hour in a zone where the speed limit is 50 kilometers per hour. 

The individuals were held at the police station, and after the cases were fully documented, charges will be filed against them under Article 297-a of the Criminal Code – "reckless driving of a motor vehicle."
